Your one stop shop for Competent Person Scheme membership.
Many jobs in the home need to be notified to and approved as being compliant with Building Regulations by a Building Control Body, either your local Authority Building Control or a private sector Approved Inspector, unless the work is carried out by installers registered with a Competent Person Scheme who can self-certify that their work is compliant.
Blue Flame Certification offers certification services for membership to Competent Person Schemes for the following activities:-
Category BSM (Building Services Mechanical)
-Oil fired combustion appliances. oil storage tanks and pipes
-Heating and Hot water systems and controls
-Ventilation system or air conditioning system
Category BFM (Building Fabric Measures)
-Cavity wall insulation
-External wall insulation
-Internal wall insulation
-Hybrid insulation (internal and external)
-Replacement of a window, roof window or door
Category BSE (Building Services Electrical)
-Fixed low or extra low voltage electrical installations
-Fixed low or extra low voltage electrical installations arising from other work
-Energy efficient lighting system or electrical heating system not in a dwelling

Please note, in order to be registered with a Competent Person Scheme installers will need to demonstrate that they meet the minimum technical competence requirements and also the Minimum Competence Requirements for work undertaken through Competent Persons Schemes Approved under Schedule 3 of the Building Regulations (England and Wales).To be authorised as competent to self certify some types of work it may be necessary to meet the requirements of several of the minimum technical competences.
